My Approach

I enjoy the 'deep dive' of pathology and prefer fewer clients and cases, versus the very high caseload typical of commercial settings. My approach is collaborative and integrative with the clinician and researcher. I pride myself on being able to address your concerns, thinking outside the box, going above and beyond with communication, pathologic process discussion, and differential diagnoses.

My Story

I attained my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Adelaide and completed a three-year stint in clinical practice, where I developed a healthy respect for the challenges faced by veterinary clinicians. Following this, I pursued my passion for pathology by completing a Masters of Veterinary Science at Murdoch University, and a Residency and Fellowship in Anatomic Pathology (Zoo and Wildlife track / Comparative Pathology) at Cornell University and the Wildlife Conservation Society (Bronx Zoo) in New York, USA. During my pathology training I was exposed to a plethora of complex cases, and developed expertise across multiple species in hepatopathology and infectious diseases. I then worked as a Toxicologic Pathologist and Digital Pathology Expert at Charles River Laboratories for 5 years, attaining specialty in nonclinical pathology and safety assessment. However, my own desire to re-engage in research led me back to academia. I opened this consultancy service in order to meet demand for comparative pathology research projects.
